Signed and ready to deliver: Everyone Active officially kicks off multi-million pound leisure centre renovation

Everyone Active, the trading name for Sports & Leisure Management (SLM), has officially signed-up to operate all Havering Council’s leisure centres under a 20-year contract which includes a multi-million-pound renovation programme.

On Friday, Havering Council’s Chief Executive, Andrew Blake-Herbert met with Everyone Active’s management team to formally award the company the contract.

Everyone Active is the Council’s current leisure centre operator and will now work with the Council to provide a wide range of leisure facilities, accessible for all residents in much improved and new buildings. Everyone Active have already invested heavily in improving the cleaning and maintenance of all leisure centres, as part of the new contract arrangements.

New leisure facilities will be seen at Hornchurch Sports Centre, and Romford Leisure Centre with improvements at Central Park Leisure Centre. This borough-wide renovation will generate savings of millions which will be reinvested in other council services.

Councillor Melvin Wallace, Cabinet Member for Culture & Community Engagement said: “We have already started seeing some improvements to our leisure centres across the borough and we will work with Everyone Active to ensure that the new up-to-date facilities will provide the best service for residents.

“This is a good start to a great future for sport and leisure facilities in Havering.”
