Celebrating success this Friday
Posted: 16th Dec 2016 | Written by Katrina GilbertThis Friday (7 October) the cream of local business will gather in Rainham to discover who will be celebrating winning a Havering Business award.
The 2016 ceremony takes place at the CEME conference centre and 32 Havering businesses will be battling it out to win one of 13 prestigious awards.
Each of the award categories are sponsored by a company that was also involved in the judging process. Mac Robertson, Managing Partner at Hornchurch-based accountancy and business advisors Haines Watts are sponsoring the Growing Business of the Year award said: “The awards are a great vehicle for recognising the businesses and owners who are achieving growth and contributing to the Borough and region. The huge diversity in type and size of business and the great people behind them, makes it a joy to be involved. Being on the judging panel is a great experience – it provides an opportunity to hear the stories of business owners face-to-face and helps us raise our profile within the business community.”
In a slight change to the way things were done last year the Business of the Year Award finalists won’t be known until the night as they will be announced from among the 11 winners of the individual Award categories. A second Award, the Highly Commended Awards, will also be decided on the night after the winners of all the categories have been announced.
Councillor Roger Ramsey, the Leader of Havering Council will be joining the celebrations on Friday and said: “Once again I have been astounded by the achievements of our businesses and it me proud that there are so many successful businesses in our borough and that Havering Council has chosen to recognise that through the organisation of the Havering Business Awards. Friday night is an opportunity to celebrate success and the fantastic contribution of the finalists and sponsors in making Havering a great place to do business. My thanks to all of them for the local people they employ, the services they deliver or goods they manufacture, and for the taxes they pay!”
