The London Brough of Havering provides the perfect platform to help your business grow and prosper.
Here’s a snapshot of how.

Infrastructure

Havering – Connecting you to Europe and Beyond

Businesses locating in Havering will enjoy massive advantage with an impressive array of transport links to the UK and mainland Europe.

Road
Shouldering the M25, London’s orbital London motorway, the A13 and the A406 provides a direct road from the east straight through the south of the borough and into the centre of London and connects to the major port in Essex. The A12 goes through Havering, where it meets the M25, and Essex from central London, providing superb links in and out of the capital.

Rail

Rail links are also excellent. The Greater Anglia service has three stations in the Borough, Gidea Park, Harold Wood and Romford and runs into Stratford and Liverpool Street.  The London Overground service runs from Upminster to Romford via Emerson Park.  The C2C service runs from the south Essex coast via Rainham and Upminster and into London Fenchurch Street. London Docklands and Westminster can be reached in less than 25 minutes and Stratford connects travellers to Europe via the Channel Tunnel rail link.

London Underground & Crossrail

The London Underground District Line runs through Havering, connecting Upminster, Elm Park and Hornchurch directly with the City and the West End.

Since January 2015 new ‘S stock’ trains have been operating on the District Line giving passengers a much more pleasant journey. All these new trains are air-conditioned, with walk-through carriages, automated visual displays and station announcements, plus CCTV. They also have dedicated wheelchair areas, wider doors and walkways, lower passenger alarms and easier access between the train and platform, making them much more accessible.

Crossrail, the region’s newest high frequency, high capacity railway will connect London to the South East by the of 2019. It will call at Gidea Park, Harold Wood and Romford stations in Havering en route to central London and Heathrow Airport. This is a major project set to bring a great deal of development, investment and commerce to the borough.

Beam Park Station

A new station on the C2C line will open in 2020, Beam Park rail station will provide a rapid 20-minute link into Fenchurch Street.

Airports

Business connectivity in Havering is much boosted thanks to its situation between five major international airports: Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted, City Airport and Southend, making the borough hugely accessible from in and outside the UK.

London City Airport in only 20 minutes; London Stansted Airport can be reached within just 30 minutes and London Southend Airport is a 40 minute drive. Heathrow and Gatwick are just a little further but widen the choice of highly accessible airports for the area.

Ferry Ports
Havering is located a short distance from a selection of major ferry ports including Harwich, Tilbury, Felixstowe and Dover making the area easily accessible from mainland Europe and ideal for cargo and shipping.

The new deep-water port in nearby Purfleet will be able to handle the biggest container ships in the world.

The extensive variety of strong transport routes makes Havering an ideal location for businesses of all sizes, from smaller firms to larger businesses. The majority of goods travelling across the UK, to and from Europe or beyond, will pass through Havering and this will only increase once the new European high-speed link opens, as well as Crossrail and the deep water port in Purfleet.
